Somewhere between the age of 26 months and 30 months, the child begins to develop empathy or being able to relate to another person’s point of view. Up to then, a child is very self-centered and only knows what they want with no consideration to what others may want or need.
When the child begins to relate to even one other child, it is a milestone. They begin learning how to socialise. This allows them to learn such concepts as sharing or waiting for their turn. They might even begin to learn manners, especially if they are taught by example in the home.
By 31 months to 36 months of age, your child should begin to learn how to socialise in groups. They are learning to develop relationships and to get along with others. These skills are extremely important.
